About Us

Our coffee roastery started in 2010 with our café – Café Lounge. All the coffees we served there were roasted on the spot. The smoke of roasting coffee often filled up the café, and green beans in jute bags were hidden between tables and chairs. Our name – Art of Coffee – relates to our strong connection with art. The founders – Georgia and Gabor are Architects and Gerry – our roaster who joined us later – is a gifted artist. Today we have a state-of-the-art coffee roastery with Probat roasters, destoners, air filters and all machinery you need to roast coffee to perfection every time while minimizing our impact on the environment.

Where are you based?

We are located in Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim in the heart of the northwest of Ireland.

Do you roast your own coffee?

We roast our own coffee in our Probat roasters, (using air filtration to increase the quality of the roast and to lower our impact on the environment.) In general, we roast medium (or full city). We are roasting our coffees to highlight their original characters without burning it. The coffee is roasted slow enough to develop its flavours and let its body deepen and reducing its acidity just enough to give a nice smooth, deep coffee flavour. This is the way we like our coffee, and we think you will like it too.!

What kinds of coffee do you roast?

Our coffee comes from an array of global locations, including Columbia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Indian, El Salvador. All our coffees are arabica beans, which contains almost 60% more lipids and almost twice the amount of sugar compared to Robusta coffee beans. These play an important part in not only the flavour, but the aroma and body of the coffee. Arabica beans taste better because the increase in sugar gives the coffee a better taste, a cleaner mouthfeel, and a decrease in bitterness.

Where is your coffee sourced?

We do our best to source high quality and specialty grade green coffee as close as possible to the origin – directly from farmers or due to our good connections in the continent straight from Europe’s main ports. Once the green coffee landed in Europe, it is delivered straight to us, cutting out unnecessary steps in the supply chain. This means we can keep the prices low for our customers.

How do I place an order?

– Click on Shop at the top of the webpage. You will be directed to our store, where you
will find a variety of products separated into categories, such as Coffees, Teas,
Accessories, Espresso machines and more.
– Click on the product you wish to purchase and scroll down to begin placing order.
– If purchasing coffee, please choose if you would like the coffee to be ground or whole
beans, and the weight you would like to purchase (250g/1kg)
– Select the amount of the product you would like to purchase and click add to cart.
– Once you have everything you need, click the shopping bag logo on the top right side of
the webpage to be taken to your cart.
– In your cart, you will find your items, the quantity of each item, and your order subtotal.
You can make changes to your order from here.
– Please select your preferred delivery method and click proceed to checkout.
– If you are a returning customer, you will be prompted to sign in before continuing.
– You will next be asked to fill out billing and shipping details. Please do this with care, as
errors in details are at the customers liability.
– Finally, select your payment methods (Debit/Credit card/PayPal)
– If paying with PayPal, you will be redirected to their webpage to complete payment.
– If paying with One-4-All voucher, please contact us on 071-95 90 120.
– When complete, click Place Order, and relax while we prepare your order for shipping.

What payment methods do you accepts?

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and One-4-All vouchers. Please call us on 071-95 90 120 to pay with a One-4-All voucher.

Can I order coffee to be delivered on a regular basis?

We offer a coffee subscription service, where we roast your coffee fresh and deliver to you on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. This way, you never have to worry about running out of your favourite blends. Your subscription starts on the day of your first order. As a bonus, there is a 6% discount on all our coffee subscription, saving you both time and money.

How long does delivery take?

To ensure you get fresh coffee we keep only a small amount in stock. We aim to dispatch orders placed before 11am on the same day. However, if we are experiencing a high volume of orders, we will roast your coffee on the day of ordering and will be shipped the following working day. Items will be shipped by Fastway (2-5 working days) or DPD (next day delivery). Delivery delays can occasionally occur.

Where do you ship to?

Currently, Art of Coffee ships to Republic of Ireland, Germany, and France.

What happens if I am not fully satisfied with my Coffee order?

If for any reason you are unhappy with your order, please do not hesitate to contact us. We roast our coffee to the highest standards, and we expect our customers to be satisfied with our products and service. Ground coffee cannot be exchanged to whole beans. Please be careful when choosing ground option. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, you can return all or any part of your order, provided it is undamaged and in the original packaging. Please contact us via email if you would like to return an item within 14 days of receiving your order. We will arrange free a pickup of the item(s). As soon we got back the item(s), your replacement will be shipped, or your payment will be refunded.

Why is my order delayed or damaged?

Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for lost parcels if incorrect or incomplete address was given by a customer. Please be careful when entering your address. If your parcel is not delivered within the specified time frame (Fastway max 5 working days, DPD max 2 working days), please contact us or the courier as soon as possible. You will find the tracking number of your order in the shipping confirmation email. We will contact the courier to locate / find your parcel and arrange delivery. If the courier confirms that the parcel is lost, we will resend or refund your order. Failure to contact us about a lost parcel within 21 days of shipment means we cannot resend or refund your order.

What is the difference between the different coffees and blends?

Single origin coffees are from specific regional around the world, like Columbia, Peru, and Ethiopia. Blends are combinations of two or more of our single origin coffees, infused to create signature and unique experiences. (Our selection can vary and is based availability.)

Is your coffee whole beans or ground?

All our coffees can be ordered as whole beans (so you can grind freshly at home) or pre ground for all home brewing methods (filter, espresso, Cafetiere) Ground coffee cannot be exchanged to whole beans. Please be careful when choosing ground option.

Do you roast any decaffeinated coffees?

We roast Peruvian and Brazilian coffee (based on availability) that is gently decaffeinated using Co2, so that you can still enjoy delicious coffee if caffeine does not agree with you, or if you fancy a late-night cuppa.
